Significant increase in visitor numbers |
| |
| With over 40% more visitors compared to the 2006 addition, Transports Publics 2008 has proved to be
highly successful. In total, close to 9000 visitors came and found out about the latest innovations from the 220 exhibitors. |

An increasingly international event |
| |
Some fifty nations were represented at the exhibition, with a large number of overseas delegations,
including several from beyond Europe: India, Brazil, China, Iceland, Portugal, Spain, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Russia, Sweden,
United Kingdom, and others.
Many dignitaries also visited the exhibition: the Portuguese ambassador to France, the Secretaries of State for
Transport from Brazil, Belgium and France, MPs from Iceland and Belgium, Euro-MPs and others.
With over 30% of exhibitors from outside France, the exhibition's European dimension was confirmed, as was its
increasingly international vocation.
The exhibition opened with the signature by the GIE Objectif transport public GART-UTP and the UITP of a partnership agreement
for the next two editions of the exhibition, stating their long-term objective of organising a world sustainable mobility exhibition in Paris. |

Innovation at the heart of the exhibition |
| |
Innovation was a guiding theme throughout the three-day event and in every field - road, rail, services,
alternative mode transport - with the Innovation Track and the Public Transport Innovation Awards.
This year, the Awards went to Bombardier's BiBi AGC high-capacity railcar, ERG Transit Systems' virtual point of sale, and
Mobi+ by Lumiplan. |
| |
| |
An event-filled programme |
| |
| Events and debates at the 2008 addition drew large numbers of people, and included roundtable debates at the
Carrefour de l'Europe, the Exhibitor Platform, the Golden Bus awards, students and graduates meeting prospective employers, press conferences and
more. |
